Too often wedding cake design is safe, it's pretty but it's underwhelming. My designs embrace the inspiration around me and attract style-led couples who wish to make an artistic statement with their cake.

La Bohème was borne from a love of art, architecture, fashion, ceramics, textures and design and it is the foundation of all of my work.

I work closely with my clients to understand your passions, your loves and your influences to create a design proposal that will evolve into a unique piece of edible art for your special day.

When it comes to flavours I only use the highest quality ingredients to ensure your cake looks as good as it tastes. I believe we all have an important role to play in the future of humanity so where possible I use organic, seasonal produce and ethically sourced sustainable products and practices.

Why La Bohème?
Def. La Bohème A person with artistic or literary interests who disregards conventional standards of behaviour.  bo·he′mi·an adj. bo·he′mi·an·ism n.

Truthfully, ever since I saw RENT back in 1998 I was hooked and the song La Vie Boheme was one of my absolute favourites. A story of a bunch of kids living an artistic, bohemian lifestyle in troubled New York.

After nearly a decade of baking for family and friends I founded my original cake business Anna Lewis Cake Design in 2018 which allowed me to to bake beautiful bespoke cakes for weddings and special occasions in a fine art wedding style.

In 2020 I decided that, whilst I really enjoyed making pretty cakes for my clients, I wasn't realising my passion which was to experiment more with contemporary design, with textures and movement and to push the boundaries on contemporary cake design.

La Bohème allows me the freedom to work creatively in a way that now feels like me. It's my happy place.

I'd love my cakes to be part of your special day so please don't hesitate to get in touch for a chat about your cake or to book onto a consultation.
